A Tradition of Quality In 1941, a young man named Sam Boyd came to Las Vegas to seek his fortune. He had a wife, a son and $30 to his name. He went to work as a dealer, saved his money and invested in the Las Vegas hospitality industry. He moved up through the ranks until he presided over the founding of several Las Vegas hotels. After more than 30 years, he founded his own gaming and resort company, The Boyd Gaming Corporation, which now owns seven Las Vegas resorts, including the Stardust.
Sam’s son, William S. Boyd, grew up in Las Vegas and spent his life learning his father’s way of doing business. He is now chairman of the board and chief executive office of The Boyd Gaming Corporation and today he leads one of the world’s largest gaming companies with the same devotion to customer service that made his father so successful. William B’s restaurant was named for William S. Boyd because it carries out his personal dedication to quality.
